Helen CLARK 27 May 1821 at Ancrum, Roxburgh (my direct ancestors) James PATERSON b. 24 Aug 1796 Linton, Roxburgh marr. Harriet ANDERSON? Only known child, a son Francis b. abt 1830 marr. Annie TULLY Susan PATERSON b. 9 Nov 1798 Linton, Roxburgh, d. 1 Mar 1873 Ladhope, Roxburgh marr. John BLACK 21 Mar 1824 at Crailing, Roxburgh All males that I have mentioned were farm workers or stewards, so the ironmonger profession of your John Paterson of Peebles doesn't seem to fit into this family's heritage.
