I am a descendant of William (B?) Inglis (b. Scotland), through his son James, (b. in the US). I think WIlliam was born in Douglas, Lanark in 1749, but I can't find any confirmation of that. William's wife was, I think, Grace Davis (Davisson or Davidson). I am trying to find records confirming his birth, marriage, emigration to the US, and death. Most important of all, I am trying to trace the line back in time from William. Does anyone have any records of him or his parents? Any records of their forbears?
