True. But the OPR index is derived from the records of a a single faith, the Church of Scotland. NAS and some other archives hold records of other faiths eg Catholic, Baptist, Episcopal etc. My family in days past switched churches occasionally. I blame the ladies! ;~) The Chirnside records for <Reformed Presbyterians> are with Nat Archives Scotland. These cover BDMs. As of year 1983 the collection only ranged 1843- 1860. Maybe it is now more extensive? In passing, I note that Dalbeattie KKD Episcopal records from 1745 were with the Minister as at 1983. But now?????? Alistair
