I would appreciate hearing from people with interests in the following family groups. Robert Goodfellow, born in Roxburghshire about 1796, married Janet Thomson, daughter of John Thomson and Janet Pow of Innerleithen, Peebleshire. The couple was living in Valcartier, Lower Canada, in 1821. I have not found the marriage and would appreciate knowing more about them and their ancesters. The Goodfellow background is particularly puzzling, despite the amount of research that I personally have done in Edinburgh. William Meek, probably the son of William Meek & Janet Weir, born June 19, 1784 in Jinkabout Mills, Bo'Ness Parish, Linlithgowshire, married Margaret Angus, date and place unknown. They emigrated to Quebec about 1820. His brothers, John and Thomas, also came to Quebec initially but later moved on. I would appreciate learning more about them and their ancestors in Scotland. John West, Linlithgow, born about 1782, married Ann Bryce, born about 1789, in Ecclesmachan in February 1808. I am interested in knowing more about them and their ancestors in Scotland. William Smith, born about February 1807 in Bulmer, Yorkshire, was married to Hannah Ireland in Quebec in 1832. She was also born in Yorkshire, the daughter of Francis Ireland and Hannah Hopper, early settlers in Valcarter, near Quebec City. Again, I would appreciate knowing more about their Yorkshire origins. The Smith family is a particular challenge. In all cases, I have information to share about the families in Canada.
