Hi Listers, My 4g-grandfather was born at the Rooken on the east edge of Kielder Forest due west of Rochester in Redesdale. I wandered up to the remains about 20 years ago and took a number of photographs. I repeated this exercise a couple of weeks ago and found the site completely cleared of all except the kitchen sink and the bath-tub. Does anyone know when the building was removed? TIA Melvyn.
