Hello Is there anyone out there who is either able to translate old Scottish money for me or that knows of a link where it is explained. I have been looking for a will for the time of around 1720 to 1730 and the numbers look very strange - they look like b's I's and j's which I think refers to pounds shillings and pence in that order but I could be completely wrong. Also is there anything on the web that explains how dates were written. There is a word on the will which I cant make out but appears to refer to the dates that things happened as the numbers after this word are clearly indicating dates.
