I'm still on the track of my LIETCH ancestors! I've gotten to a bit of a dead end looking for documentation on William LIETCH so now I'm researching laterally looking for information about his sister, Isabel/Isabella. Right now I'm looking for her birth circa 1784. Thanks to the list, I just received the 1811 Kelso marriage registry entry for Isabella LEACH to James HARDIE and it stated that her parish was Berwick upon Tweed. Bingo! That's the first documented evidence I have that my LIETCH ancestors had a definite link to Berwick upon Tweed. The marriage register also named an Anne ROSE as witness. I believe that a Kenneth LEICH and a Barbara ROSE may be the parents of Isabella. Now all I have to do is prove (or disprove) it! I was unable to find an IGI entry on the LDS website for an Isabella LEICH/LEACH/LIETCH/LEITCH circa 1784, although there is a promising member submission for a William LEICH circa 1789 which I haven't been able to document to my family. I know from past help on the list that there are births which are not on IGI. How can I search for a circa 1784 birth for an Isabella LIETCH in the area of Berwick upon Tweed? (To date I haven't had a reply from the Berwick Record Office to a separate query I sent them in September.) Thanks for any assistance. Kind regards, Eleanor, Canada
