I'm interested in any information on this Post Office circa 1851 to 1903 when my g/g/g and g/g grandfathers (William and James AMOS) were resident there as Postmasters/rural messengers. It was a sub post office of the main one in Hawick. I have had some research completed re post office archives and the usual census, OPR etc etc I believe the building is still there and is also known as the Old TollHouse at Ashkirk. Has anyone information on the history of this place or can tell me where to go next to find same? Many Thanks Geoff Amos New Zealand
