Hi all I am a new Subcriber. My ancestors seem to have moved to the Borders area. James BROWN was born in Lilliesleaf, Roxburgh around 1853, his father was Robert BROWN mother Helen DUNLOP. James married in 1878 in Galashiels. The family is on the 1881 census but not in the same area on the 1871 census. Has anyone came across this name. I am visiting Scotland in January and intend visiting the area (weather permitting) Any help would be grateful.
