LIST OF NAMES WHICH APPEAR ON THE 1814 PLAN (NB the numbers in this list do not relate to those applied to the following monumental inscriptions) 15 Duncan Sinclair Gardener Mellerstain. **************************************************** 24 In memory of MARY SINCLAIR daughter to DUNCAN SINCLAIR Mellerstain who died 20.2.1791(?) aged 12 years. ********************************** 33 Erected in tile blessed hope of the resurrection the remains of DUNCAN SINCLAIR native of Taymouth Breadalbane born 1750 died 16.4.1833 aged 83 years. He was gardener to GEORGE BAILLIE Esq.. of Jerviswood Mellerstain for 53 years he passed the remainder of his days in the enjoyment of ease and comfort under the kind protection of the family whom he so long loved and respected also CHRISTAIN TAIT the beloved spouse of DUNCAN Sinclair who died at Mellerstain 8.3.1832 aged 87 years Note in the 1814 list you are given his profession.
