    3. Hello List, Re-posting a request made a few months ago. If SKS is visiting Linton Churchyard would they mind checking a headstone for me? In the 1980's my brother transcribed the details of some ancestors, but on checking my recently-purchased Memorial Inscription booklets from the Borders FHS, there are discrepancies or mistakes in the information. In the booklet it is No. 182 and placed between '2 illegible stones set in the church wall' and a 'Broken Celtic Cross near south east corner post'. "Sacred to the memory of George HENDERSON who died at Caverton 10.8. ? aged 51 years also four of his son Adam HENDERSON's children and of Jennet HINDMARSH the above Adam HENDERSON's wife who died 6.5. ? aged 75 years. The above Adam HENDERSON died at Corbethouse 25.2. 1870 aged 93." My query is the correct year for George and Jennet on the actual gravestone, if still legible. I will mention it to the Borders FHS if the information is incorrect. After years of searching I am still looking for any references to the marriage of Thomas HALL born 1801 at Cottonshopeburnfoot NBL to Janet (or maybe Jennet) HENDERSON born 1800 at Morebattle ROX. I have found a marriage at Southdean on the IGI on-line which I am checking out. Also the births/baptisms of their 7 children all born at Oxnam according to the 1841 and 1851 censuses, one of which is my great grandfather Adam HALL. Any assistance will be gratefully received. Regards, Gil. Hall.
