Hi Alex: I am researching the name Kennedy in the Border area also and believe they may have been gypsies or travelling people as occupations seem to have been hawkers, tinsmiths, basketmakers . Tthe children were born all over the border area, Coldstream, Jedburgh etc.. I have come to a dead end with William Kennedy as I cannot find his death. I know of another researcher hunting Kennedy's also and has an Ann Kennedy married to a Jacob Tait around 1861, anything familiar. Childrens names were, Robert, Matthew,William, John, Peter Margaret and Elizabeth . Look forward to hearing from you.
