    3. I'm attempting to trace my family back to Scotland. Using approximate dates and the naming protocl, I have located my potential GGGGrandfather and GGGGGrandfather on LDS. They were in the above area in the 1700s (Thomas & David Galbraith). Can anyone help direct me to more definitive information (as in immigration to Ireland, names of children, etc.). I wasn't able to find a regional mailing list for this area. Thanks all. Doug Galbraith

    3. Douglas, My husband is descended from William Hastie and Elizabeth Galbraith who were born c. 1750 and married c.1770. They had several children between 1770 and 1791 while living in the area near Innerwick, East Lothian. I think they may have belonged to the East Barns Associate Congregation, near Dunbar which might explain why I cannot find them on the normal church records. I don't know when William died but Elizabeth died in 1831 and is buried at Preston Churchyard in Berwickshire with her son Thomas Hastie and his wife, Esther Hoy. Thomas was born at Innerwick. William and Elizabeth are my husband's gggg grandparemts and Thomas and Esther are his ggg grandparents. There appear to be Galbraiths in the area of Innerwick in the 1700s and sometimes the name appears as Calbreath or Galbreath but I have not, as yet, been able to trace Elizabeth's parents or siblings. I am in contact with several people throughout the world who are descended from this couple but we are all stuck at this point. You may have noticed the Runciman messages over the last few days. Elizabeth Hastie, granddaughter of William and Elizabeth married William Runciman. Do you think that your Galbraiths could be related to our Elizabeth?
