Hello Listers, I am new to the Border listings but have traced many of my family through other Rootsweb sites. I am trying to find any details of my ggrandfather William Henry Blackadder Thompson and his parents David Blackadder Thompson / Margaret Hogg who resided in Northumberland. I understand that David Blackadder Thompson was head coachman for Sir Henry Askew MP at Pallinsburn House. I have information which makes me believe that William may have been born circa 1841 but have been unable to find any record either in St Catherine's House Index or the Scots GRO. On his Son (William's ) Marriage certificate in NSW Australia his father and mother (David Thompson / Margaret Hogg) were reported to be alive in Northumberland in 1881. David Thompson's occupation was specified as a farmer. What I am specifically looking for is any BDM records or Census information which may help me to trace these three persons. I believe Palinsburn House is in Ford Parish, Crookham Constablewick. If anyone could could provide any information which may help me find this my people it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Doug Johnson
Hi Doug, Don't know if this is any help or not, but I ran across the Blackadder surname in the LDS film for the OPRs for Sprouston and Stitchill & Hume Parishes. Entry was a birth of a William Blackadder b. 1784 in Stitchill, sorry I didn't take note of the parents names.
