    3. Mr. La Fever, One of the churchyards still exist, because I visited it in 1998. It is Ashkirk and it is near Selkirk. The church still stands and is being used, I am sure. I cannot tell you how to get there as a distant relative of mine was showing us where some of our ancestors (SHORTREEDs) were buried, but someone living in the area could easily tell you the location. There are several headstones in the cemetery. If Linden is the same as Lindean churchyard, I have been there also. It is located approximately 1/2 mile past Selkirk Glass, as you are leaving Selkirk and the first turn to the right, then the first turn to the left. There is a horse riding stable located there and right before you get to the main house is the churchyard. A very few headstones are remaining there. Most of them have been moved to another location (I don't know where). My 5th Great Grandparents Thomas ELLIOT and wife Jean INGLES are interred there and their headstone is the only tall one left standing in the cemetery. There are a few flat headstones in the churchyard. No church is left standing there.
