Hello Tom Aitchison, that was my Grandfather's and G Grandfather's name, but no alas, I don't know if they came from Roxburough way. My George Aitchison married in Greenlaw Berwichshire to Janet Cairns in 1822, thats as far back as I have gotten with either of them, he was dead by the 1851 census and the 1841 only says he came from the area, and by that time he was living in Oldhamstocks in East Lothian. It wasn't me who had the book mentioned, but Diana Leitch, and she offered to do lookups of Greenlaw. I would be most interested to hear more of your Aitchison's I know my Grandfather had relatives in Canada but don't know any more than that, I also know that Granddads brother Peter Aitchison went to America to somewhere near Boston, but that was about the 1920's Cheers Ruth Edwards Australia
