Dear fellow Listers, Is anyone in New Zealand descended from a female (first name unknown) Hastie who was the daughter of Alexander Hastie and Isabel Bell, who were married at Abbey St Bathans in Berwickshire in 1817?. Alexander was born at Innerwick in 1791 and was the son of William Hastie and Elizabeth Galbraith. Alexander and Isabel had nine children. Three of them went to Warren County Iowa in the 1850s- Alexander, Janet and Philip. Their brother, John, went to Indiana, Pennsylvania in the 1840s/1850s. It is said that a sister and her husband went to New Zealand at roughly the same time. Several other Hastie cousins went to US at this time. Would welcome any information. Also I would be interested in any information about any Hasties in New Zealand who originate from the Borders and East Lothian regions of Scotland. Many thanks, Diana Diana M.
