    3. I am currently researching my wife's grandfather and his origins in Greenlaw. His name was William Rennie Wood Feeney. We thought that his mother (Agnes Aitchison Wood) and father (Daniel Feeney) married in 1892 in Duns, which they did. William however was born in 1887 in Greenlaw, and was registered as illegitimate, under the name William Rennie Wood. Does anyone know whether this name would signify that his father was William Rennie. A lad of the same age as Agnes appears in the 1881 Census in Greenlaw, the son of the station master. Therefore Daniel would have married a single mother and presumably 'adopted' William. Would thee have been any paternity suits at that time in this area, and if so where would the records be? Also would love to hear from anyone with interests in these names in this area of Berwickshire. Thanks Tim Wilcock Farnham, Surrey,England
