    3. Carter/coachman - or carrier maybe? They used carts. My 1838 almanac tells me that the Wooler carrier put up at the George Inn in Edinburgh. Since there were arrivals and departures on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, it sounds like there were at least 2 of them. Other listings put the George Inn in Bristo St. which might be a clue because there was a secession church there. Not sure when it was built. Maybe some kirk session records in the National Archives of Scotland. Just a guess tho as secession members wouldnt necessarily use the nearest chapel.
