    1. [BORDER] LIETCH - Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae
    2. Eleanor Clouter
    3. My 4x gt grandfather, William LIETCH (ca 1774-1852), was a Licentiate of the Church of Scotland. I understand that as a Licentiate he should appear in the "Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae; the succession of ministers in the Church of Scotland from the reformation", by Hew Scott, D.D. The Fasti gives a brief biographical sketch of each clergyman, where possible. I think most of the entries are by parish, although there is an index of clergymen in each volume. I have no idea what Parish he may have belonged to although I believe he may have been born in the area of Berwick Upon Tweed. Rev William LIETCH spent most of his adult life in North Shields, Northumberland, where he founded his own school in 1812. Someone mentioned to me that they thought there might be a volume of the Fasti for clergymen of the Church of Scotland that were "outwith" Scotland. Unfortunately here in Newfoundland I've only been able to find the first two volumes - I believe there may be eleven now?? Rev William LIETCH doesn't appear in the first two but there may be parts one and two to these volumes. Where would be the best place in England/Scotland for me to put in a request for a paid search of the Fasti indexes for William LIETCH's name? Thanks, Eleanor Clouter, Canada
