Hi Again Could someone who has the necessary Monumental Inscriptions of Berwickshire please check for me in Preston how many Moffats are listed there. I'm aware of this stone <http://roger.lisaandroger.com/showmedia.php? mediaID=289&medialinkID=1162> which is my great great great grandfather and mother - George Moffat and Isabel(la) Clark I didn't see any others when I looked there on two previous visits (although both times I've been up on the hill there it's been raining), but I'm curious as to why someone who died in Coldingham was buried in Preston - maybe others of his family are there? I'm stumped trying to find George Moffat's parents. The George Moffat I thought he was (ie I had parents, a tombstone for them in Swinton etc) turns out to have died Single in 1856. I'd love to hear from anyone else researching Moffat in the Berwickshire/Roxburghshire area too. I wrote the Scottish Genealogical Society a few days ago to ask about Volume 1 seemingly not being for sale, but no reply so far. Thanks for any assists. Roger
