You might have to check the english one as well as the scottish one in case the parents only moved north after the kids left home. I assume that you've looked at their death certs, but if they married in England, you should be able to get the info from their wedding cert - they started in 1837 in England. 1. [BORDER] Bailey family emigrants to Ireland
    2. Margaret Butler
    3. HI, Does anyone out there know how I might find any records of people living in the Borders in the early nineteenth century who emigrated (whether forcibly or not) to Ireland? I need to find out when my Bailey ancestors, living since the 1850's in co.Tipperary/Limerick in Ireland, went over from the Borders. Unfortunately, I don't even have a parish name at this stage, so it's probably 'needle in a haystack'. Many thanks for any help. Margaret

Nellie and Helen are often used as the same name, but be careful - there's always one family being difficult. For example, if both grandmothers were called Helen, the pressure to call a child after each of them was such that a family COULD have used the name twice. I've seen families where two living children were called James for this reason, but one was known by his middle name. 3. Hoping someone can help with the following : My 4th great grandfather George BURN married Agnes TELFORD (place and date unknown). First child born around 1823/4 in Wooler. I have been searching for many years for any information regarding George and/or Agnes. The George I have been pursuing was christened and lived in Cornhill and Agnes (we think) may have been christened at Coldstream which means they both may have been born around 1800. Any information however small would be very much appreciated. Robert Green has responded. Thank you Robert. Margaret Flaiban (in Adelaide South Australia).

    3. Hi List, I wonder if anyone can advise me as to the best way to locate a family member born in HAWICK Scotland/Northumberland about 1813? Is HAWICK in Scotland or Northumberland? The woman in question is a widow, by the name of Margaret MAGNESE aged 68, living in Fakenham, Norlfolk at the time of the 1881 census. She had two children with her (Ellen and Fanny) aged 32 and 28. She may have married about 1845. I have not found any marriage or death records for her. Her daughter Ellen's marriage certificate gives the surname as MAGUESE. Any help greatly appreciated. David
