    3. I do not know if we are looking at the same family, but I have the following: Michael Borden; b. Ireland, ca. 1798/1807; d. Schooner Pond, Cape Breton County, Nova Scotia, Canada; s/o unknown; m. Mary McDonald, May 3, 1835, Sydney, Cape Breton Co., N.S., Roman Catholic.They had 6 children, all born in N.S.. I do not know if he immigrated to Canada by himself, or if he came with parents, but I have not found any record of parents. I am not related, as my ancestors came from County Kent, England, to Rhode Island, to Nova Scotia. They were protestants. I have found Michael's name spelled in different records as, Boarding; Boroden (or Bowden?); Boden. Name spelled Borden in death records. Hugh Borden

Kent, England were Friends [Quakers.] I am a maternal descendants of their son, Benjamin Borden Sr. Hugh, are you from Richard and Joan's grandson, Samuel Borden [b.1705], who was ancestor of Sir Robert Laird Borden, Prime Minister of Canada during World War I?
