    3. Dear Borden "clan members" I am happy to see that there are other Bordens out there. I have not been able to find anyone except one, and haven't heard back from her for a long time. Does anyone know of the family of Lewis Leland Borden (d about 1950) who was married to Inez Estelle Ashley? They were my paternal grandparents and my dad, Leland Ashley, was their only serviving child (a male child died when a toddler). They lived in CA & AZ. I am not deep into research as yet, but very interested when I get the time. Borden b: 1784 in Connecticut, died in New York. (first generation in my research) That link goes this way: Aaron P. Borden (1784, Conn.); Otis Borden (1815 Yates County, NY); his children were: James Borden (1838 Steuben, NY), Betsey - 1840, Hannah - 1842, Rufus Asa Borden - 1844 and his son James E. Borden - 1868. He was my mother's (Nellie Elisa Borden) father. My mother (5th generation) was born Aug. 26, 1895, Addison, NY. She married Lloyd L. Jessup (my father). He was born in Erin, NY, 1896. I do not see any link with Mead. If it will be of any help I will be glad to send a descendants chart of Aaron Porter Borden.
