    1. A Borden mystery
    2. Hugh
    3. Aubrey "Clinton" (or Clinton Aubrey) Borden; s/o Samuel Smith & Laura S. (Crane) Borden; b. Kings County, Nova Scotia, abt. 1866; d. when/where. Listed in the 1871 Nova Scotia census as Aubrey Clinton age 5 Listed in the 1881 Nova Scotia census as Clinton, age 13. Not listed in the 1891 or 1901 census for Nova Scotia. I believe he emmigrated to the US in the 1880's, probably Massachusetts or Maine. Probably returning to Nova Scotia before 1915, when his daughter Laura died. He later lived, along with his son W. "Freeman" Borden, in the old "Sam Borden" place in Sheffield Mills, Kings County, Nova Scotia. Somewhere, he married a "Bertha" (unknown), (Nova Scotia or US?). Was she with him when he returned to Nova Scotia? They had two children, (that I know of), 1. W "Freeman", b. United States, abt 1905, d. Nova Scotia, 1975, unmarried; 2.Sarah Elizabeth, b. where?, March 7, 1907, d. where?, October 29, 1915. Both children buried in the Hillaton cemetery, Kings County, Nova Scotia. I do not know where Aubrey Clinton, or his wife "Bertha" died or where they are buried. Any help with this mystery would certainly be appreciated. If anyone should have access to US census 1890 through 1920, possibly do lookups? Hugh Borden

    1. [BORDEN] Abraham Borden, b.c. 1861, m. 1841 in VA, d.c. 1890 in IL
    2. My Borden question is about Abraham Borden, born c. 1816; married Anna Maria Barbel Leonard in Augusta County, VA, in April 1841; they raised their children in Montgomery County, VA, and moved to Woodford County, IL, by 1876. I am especially seeking any information about Abraham's parents' names and his birthplace; I am uncertain whether he was of English descent (Augusta being the next county north of Rockbridge and the RI>NJ>Rockbridge,VA, Bordens having so many Abrahams down the generations) or instead was of German descent, as was his wife. Many thanks, Sara

    1. Having a roll call...
    2. Rosemunda
    3. Hi everyone Please, if you feel you must request a roll call, here are some guidelines I ask that everyone follow: Please open a new mail, rather than simply replying to someone elses mail... (this is for archiving purposes) Please use a subject line other than "Roll Call". Most listers who are in a hurry simply delete those and watch instead for their family hames in the subject line, for example: Jonathon VA>OH>IN 1736-1820 Please follow these not only when replying to a roll call, but any time. You want your query noticed, I am just trying to help you get it noticed by the right people. :-) We can go ahead and begin a roll call now, but I would rather we have set roll calls after this...I will let you know when they are..I also have other things I will ask of the list...fun things...so stand by. ;-) Ruth rosemunda@earthlink.net
