If you want an idea on how the Germans are reacting to our tragedy, read the letter below from my friend who is working for the US Army for the next three years over there. Below her response is my original e-mail to her. ----- Original Message ----- Bobby, The Germans have been very sympathetic and expressed their grave concern for our loss and well being. They have been leaving flowers, candles and notes at the gates of American Kaserne's (post) all over Europe. We are under a high level of security with car searches and limited access to facilities. The German police are also helping guard the entrance to the facilites. I just got TV last night. Wasn't going to spend the big bucks to get the satellite and reciever for AFN (Armed Forces Network), but wanted to get American CNN instead of European, so I bit the bullet and did it, for bout $850. I am assuming you are in a friendly country, Germany, isn't that right? Things over here, that I can tell/feel, are still very sad. I'm doing something I've never done before- I'm listening to the speeches our Chief of Staff is making on T-V, and trying to keep up to par with what the news in general is telling us.
