Indeed, Cincinnati is showing support for Col. Boone, as well as all other victims of the catastrophes. Our son, who just opened a new sign company in downtown Cincinnati, made three 10 feet high signs which are postcards. The stamp is the emblem for the City. They were placed in a public place for all citizens to write on. I guess the length would be about 15 or 20 feet long. And Steve was amazed that they were full in just a day or two! They are being taken to three of the disaster sites to let New Yorkers know they are being supported with thoughts and prayers of the folks in Cincinnati. Here in Oklahoma, one of the things we are doing is collecting over 6,000 teddy bears with personal notes attached....and of course more needful items, such as clothing and food, water and blood. The bears are primarily for the children of the families involved. Incidentally, a fire chief who helped after the Oklahoma bombing , was killed in the New York disaster. The address for sending notes to the New York firefighters was in the rootsweb site Larry gave us for posting and reading messages. I am at work, but will send the address when I get home tonight. I am sure it is really appreciated by them and by the families. Just had folks from Pittsburgh in our museum and there is a manufacturer of respiratory masks there due to the mining industry and they donated many of their products. Some of the schools made simple red, white and blue pins and sold them for a dollar apeice and raised quite a bit of money to send.
