    3. Daniel Boone was first buried near St. Charles Missouri next to his wife Rebecca. Many years later, a body, thought to be Daniel's was removed and taken to KY. KY promised a befitting monument, although Daniel was not to fond of what KY had become. (He fled the state fearing imprisonment for debt) Family legend is that when Rebecca was burried, she was unknowing next to another body of a slave. When they began to dig for Daniel's grave they hit the remains of the unknown person and they buried daniel at the head of Rebecca. Legend continues that when they came to get Daniel, they dug up Rebecca and the unnamed slave and Daniel still rests in Missouri. Sounds like a Missouri v. Kentucky rivalry tale. But that's the story.
