    3. Someone in our large knowledgeable group must know when it is proper to show maiden names. Just a few years back, my Idaho drivers license number was my social security number. It was used as a form of identification. Now that is a no-no. I have found in sending for certified copies of birth certificates that states differ in the amount of time that has passed in order to get a copy. Some in Idaho demand that you show proof of relationship. Sometimes, non-certified copies are available. As a Medicare person, I carry with me at all times my Medicare card. I should. Who knows when I may be stricken. So, since I am elderly, at least a quarter of the doctor's offices in my town have my social security number. Even the drop in clinics. We all hope each of those people are honest, but who knows how many hands it goes through before I am billed. Most of those people now farm out their billing to other companies. So, I don't worry about it too much. Just about everyone in Idaho....banks, too, have my number and if someone cares to do the identity theft thing, they don't have to be an Einstein. Doris Phelps
