I have the following information on Joseph Jr.'s children. Also, somewhere in my files I have transcripts of the church proceedings concerning Joseph and Elizabeth's marriage. John Bishop's Company, 5th Battalion, Berks Co., Militia. Berks Co., Fine lists, page 29 shows that Jacob Boone was enrolled as a member of Capt. John Bishop's Company and was fined for non-attendance during the spring and fall of 1779 with no absences recorded during 1777 & 1778. Oath of Allegiance of Berks Co., PA by act of General Assenbly, June 13, 1777, recorded in Book D in Berks county, PA. A list of those who have taken the Oath of Allegiance before me, Jacob Shoemaker. Jacob Boone August 8, 1777. The Kentucky Land Grants THE KENTUCKY LAND GRANTS Volume 1 Part 1 CHAPTER II VIRGINIA GRANTS (1782-1792) THE COUNTIES OF KENTUCKY page 25 Grantee: Boone, Jacob Acres: 500 Book: 12 Page: 87 Date Survey: 5-14-1785 County: Fayette Watercourse: N E Fk Licking Mason county was formed from Bourbon county in 1789 Bourbon co., was formed from Fayette co, in 1786 Fayette county was formed from Kentucky Co, VA in 1780 When Joseph Boone Jr. died in Berks Co., PA, Daniel Boone the pioneer and his first cousin, came back from Kentucky and persuaded his widow Elizabeth Warin/Warren Boone and several of her children, including their spouses and children if they were married, to move to Kentucky, "To better their condition". Joseph Boone Jr.s land was sold in Exter, PA in 1785, (Commission book 1 page 282). In the fall of 1785, Jacob, Thomas and Ovid - brothers -started with their families, teams and wagons to the mouth of the Sewickley on the Monongehela and the "wintered;" built a boat, "killed a great quantity of pigeons," and in the spring of 1786 descended the Ohio River unmolested to Limestone (now Maysville) - the three families in one boat. Col. Daniel Boone, the pioneer, then resided at Limestone near the mouth of the Limestone creek. Jacob stayed in Limestone, Thomas and his family went to Butler Co., Ohio and Ovid went to Bourbon Co., KY. Arrived at Maysville, Mason, KY on 11 May, 1786 with their families. Page 481, in the Chapter named "Undetermined Connections". "It was stated by Jacob Boone's daughter Mrs. Nicholson, in 1858, that her father was a son of Joseph Boone. (Draper Mss. 1S 33.) He is referred to by historians as a cousin or 'favorite cousin' of Daniel Boone, with whom he was closely associated in Kentucky........"
