    2. I want to thank everyone who has graciously shared their lines to the list. There are some who have included dates which really assists me in keeping everything straight. I lost some data and this has been so helpful for me. I don't wish to have anyone stop their wonderful work, but do have a suggestion. Because of the rapid amount of idenity thief, mother's maiden names should be excluded. I'm not that informed on how this is done, but this is one of the reasons the federal government wants to place a limit on how much information can be accessed. I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year and the brick walls come down. Good Hunting to ALL. Patti

    3. Patti, Mother's maiden names are fine just not current maiden names. Without these maiden names no one would find anything on the other line. My Boone is a female. Her name is Sarah Boone and she died many years ago. My Sarah Boone was born 28 Oct 1850 Meigs Twp, Adams, OH and died 6 May 1921 in Rarden, Scioto, Ohio. She is buried at Mt Joy Cemetery, Rarden, Scioto, Ohio. She married George Martin Ramsey. Sarah Boone's parents were Jacob Boone and Margaret Blythe. Jacob Boone was born 25 Nov 1824 in Adams Co, OH and died on 18 Dec 1902 in Adams County, Ohio. He is buried at Boone Family Cemetery, Ginger Ridge Rd, Adams Co, Ohio. Jacob Boone's parents are John Boone born 1795 in Adams Co., Ohio died 22 Dec 1843 in Bradysville, Adams County, Ohio and Margaret "Peggy" Cooper Jacob Boone born 15 Aug 1754 Essex, Berks Co., Pa died 4 May 1827 Maysville, Mason Co, Ky buried at Pioneer Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Ky married Mary DeHart Joseph Boone Jr born 30 Apr 1730 Pa died 1829 Pa buried at Friends Burying Ground, Exeter County, Pa married Elizabeth Warren. Elizabeth was with Child before the marriage. Joseph Boone Jr and Elizabeth Warren eventually got married but not before having to apologized to the Quaker Congregation. Must of been the scandal of the day. Joseph Boone Sr. born 5 Apr 1704 Dev. England died 30 Jan 1776 Exeter, Berks Co, Pa buried Friends Burying Ground, Exeter Ground, Pa married Catherine Brown. So you see Pattee if I did not have maiden names I would not be able to go back to this far. 3. Give me a break! How are we to find connections to other families if the maiden names are omitted from our ancestral lines. Some individuals stopped at their grandparents while others carried the lines to themselves. If one doesn't include a maiden name then we would not know how two generations connect, such as George I George II George III Squire Daniel Jemina Tabitha Lorena Gee, I wonder who the father of Tabitha is or did Jemina have her out of wedlock? I have a high respect for those researching their families and would bet all I have that these individuals are not going to do something to hurt others such as use of identity theft. To suggest that we omit the maiden names makes these genealogical mail lists useless. And by the way, my maiden name is part of my email address and I'm sure that there are many others who use their maiden or married names in their address too.
