Hi, This is my first time posting something, but I would like to ask a favour. I am interested in the period when Daniel Boone was captured with his men at the Blue Licks and brought to Detroit in 1779. My reason is that I have held the Archaeological Licence for a 22 gun Royal British Warship HMS ONTARIO, which sank in Lake Ontario the evening of October 31st, 1780, since 1983. I have been doing for a later date to be published Ph.D. Thesis in History biography/genealogy of Captain James Andrews who with everyone else was lost when the ship sank. The ship has yet been found though claimed to be. I know that a few of these individuals had been prisoners on board the vessel when it was operating that year of 1780 to be brought to Montreal. The family of Captain James Andrews lived at Fort Detroit from 1769/70 up to the mid 1780's I have verifiable archival records. Colin Andrews his brother was a merchant at Fort Detroit. Would anyone on the Boone site here have any knowledge or papers I may not know regarding personal records/papers of the time at Fort Detroit of Daniel Boone beyond the standard books available at the libraries? I would be keen on any family tales or folklore I might be able to add to my papers. One other request if this is not out of place as I realize it is not historically accurate, but it gives a sense of flavour of the time is that I am also trying to obtain a copy of the Fess Parker - Daniel Boone series where he was captured and brought to Fort Detroit and meets the Fort Commander Lt.Col. Henry Hamilton the "Scalp Buyer". Henry Hamilton was the direct line commander of Captain James Andrews and mentioned in his writings. I would dearly appreciate a copy of this particular program or any related to Fort Detroit. If there are also any family folklore tales of Henry Hamilton that I may include would be welcome very much. Christian, Have you checked with Fort Detroit to see what they have in their archives? It's a museum now. You might also check with the Detroit Public Library. They have a wonderful reference and collection of data including the Burton Collection. The Burton collection is a wealth of genealogy material that came from the private collection of Phillip Burton. Phillip had a very successful abstract company. Good hunting to all. Patti
