I just came across this obituary from the Salt Lake Tribune, Sunday May 20, 2001 edition. Salt Lake City, Utah: Walter E. Boone age 78, passed away in Bountiful, Utah on May 17, 2001. Born on June 21, 1922 to Walter and Anna Stickels Boone in Michigan. Married Alta Murphy in Elko, Nevada 1956. Survived by: stepsons Stan (Jean) and Frank (Una) Murphy; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by wife Alta. Graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 22, 2001 11 am at Redwood Memorial Estates (6500 So. Redwood Rd.).
