My GGGrandfather Nathan _Bryant_ Boon Nathan Bryant Boon (b TN Apr 15, 1811 d MS Aug 20, 1893) should have at least met the Danl Boon <died in same county 1870> shown in the 1840 census. <<1850 census for DeSoto Co., MS, page 332 south Nathan Boon 39 male farming born TN; Matilda Boon female 42 born TN; Adelia Boon female 14 born MS; John H. Boon male age 12 born MS; Pinkney C. Boon male age 9 born MS; Laura R. Boon female age 7 born MS; William A. Boon male age 4 born MS.>> This family has a long tradition for naming new children after relatives of a previous generation. We do have firm info that C.F. Boone AKA Charles Franklin Boone 1855 - 1921 was my GGrandfather. Here's the line as we now have it. Mother: of Nathan B. Bryant is believed to be Rebecca Bryant No real support - no details on her. Boone show Nathan Bryant Boon as Charles F. Boone's father. Son of Nathan: Charles Frank Boone often known as C.F. Boone - Born unk town, MS 01/08/1855 d 1921 -probate Tate Co., MS a/k/a/ Squire Boone because he could read/write. (...NOT Daniel's father ) married 02/26/1879 Hannah Catherine Potter - b 12/08/1860 d 02/28/1910 Baldwyn, MS I have 1900 and 1910 Census Lee Co., MS - data on this family including the children below. All are listed in the WFT/FTM CDROM World Family Tree Vol. 2 Tree 933. Family moved to Memphis after 1900 but before 1921 when he died. Some of his children moved to California as adults....some stayed in Memphis, TN. F. Boone there. I found T. C. Boon on page 266; PG 259-N. Boone mw age 65 born TN wife Matildy (Matilda) Boone wf age 72 born TN; PG 240 Frank Boon PG 239J H Boon. 1870 De Soto Co., MS, census page 342 dated Aug 16th Township 5 Range 7 house hold 332 N. B. Boon age 58 mw farmer born TN; Matilda age 62 wf born TN; William age 23 mw at school born MS; Charles age 16 mw at school born MS. I believe this is your Charles because on the 1860 census of De Soto Co. I found: N. Boon age 49 male farmer born TN; M. Boon female age 52 born TN; S. R Boon female age 16 born MS; W A Boon male age 15 born MS; C. F. Boon male age 6 born MS. I think S R Boon should be L R Boon back then the L and S looked almost the same. 1850 census for De Soto Co., MS, page 332 south Nathan Boon 39 male farming born TN; Matilda Boon female 42 born TN; Adelia Boon female 14 born MS; John H. In 1975 Howard Carpenter published "A History of Tate County" in which a story on John Henry Boone was featured. I hope this helps with your research. However I checked my index to the census for De Soto and Tate County and found N. B. Boon on page 342 of the 1870 De Soto Co., MS, census. N. Boon was listed on page 259 of the 1880 Tate Co., MS census if that helps you any. You've probably already checked that. G H Boone in 1920, Missionary for Coldwater Association, put in concrete basement along with Aubrey Crawford at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church at their own expense.
