    3. I am searching for any information on William H. SMITH listed as a Magistate in Phillips county in the 1820's. I believe he is the same William SMITH listed in this article I found in KY Records. Kentucky: A History of the State by Battle-Pierce-Kniffin 3 rd ed. 1886 J . P. SMITH , Warren co KY was born in Phillips co AR 24 July 1824 and is a son of William and Keziah Boone Smith, the former of whom , a native of Virginia , lived there most of his life but died in AR in 1841. His father, Phillip SMITH removed to Arkansas and died there at an advanced age. Subjects maternal grandfather John BOONE was a native of North Carolina , and immigrated to this state in an early day, afterward removed to Tennessee where he died. Subject was about a year old when his father died and his mother returned to Kentucky from Arkansas, and for a time made her home with her father . She afterward married Rev. Joseph FRANCEWAY and removed to Greensburg, KY where they remained eight years and then returned to this county. Soon afterwards Mr. FRANCEWAY died , leaving his widow with two children : John H. and Annie F. She then married Jesse BUNCH , one child was born of this union, Mary E. Mrs. BUNCH died in 1876. Subject married first, Mary, daughter of Timothy J. THOMAS, of Mississippi, this union was childless. He next married Mrs. Bettie, widow of Samuel GAINES, of this county, and a daughter of Wilson RITTER, of Barren county. She bore him four children : William E., Wallie G., Charles R., and Carrie H. Mrs. SMITH had by her first husband , two children , John B, and Mary E. GAINES. Mr. Smith owns 530 acres of fine land, well improved. He is a member of the Christian Church and of the Democratic Party. ~~~~~~~~~ (MY Notes) John BOONE was believed to be the son of Jonathan BOONE, older brother of Daniel. He was married first to Hannah/Henrietta STEWART who died possibly ca 1815. He next married Any (Anna ) GriderMITCHELL, widow of Charles MITCHELL and they raised a family of seventeen children. 1810 Warren co KY census John BOONE 1 m-10, 1 m 10-16, 1 m 26-45 2 f -10, 1 f 10-16, 1 f 16-26, 1 f 45 and up 1820 Warren co KY Census John Boon 2 m -10, 2 m 10-16, 2 m 18-26, 1 m 45 and up 3 f -10. 1 f 10-16, 1 f 16-26, 1 f 26- 45 Richmond Pearson BOONE first found on tax list St. Francis co.
