    1. [BOONE-L] Roll Call - Rev War
    2. Hi All, And happy Independence Day! I would like to remember my direct line ancestors who served in the War of Revolution. John Henry DeFrance, whose 2nd wife (as far as we know) was Elisabeth Boon, sister of Capt. Hawkins Boone. He served with the First New York Regiment of the Continental Line as a Private from 1779 until the end of the War in 1783. He was my 4th great grandfather. John DeFrance, first child of John Henry (as far as we know) and first wife Anna "Polly" Allison served in the Sixth Company, Seventh Battalion of the Lancaster County, PA Militia in 1782. He also served in the the same unit in 1783 after the Militia was reorganized and the unit became the First Company of the Fourth Battalion. James DeFrance, second child of John Henry and Anna, served several tours of duty with the Third, Fourth and Seventh Battalions of the Lancaster County Militia between 1779 (when he was barely 17 years old) and 1782. He was a Private, Sergeant and Captain in the Militia and also served in the War of 1812. I'm obviously very proud of their service and sacrifices for our freedom. - as I am of all those who served and sacrificed. It makes the 4th a lot more special holiday.
