First.... Bennett Greenspan, the president of Family Tree DNA, which is the lab we're working with to do our DNA testing, contacted me to inform me he had received a telephone call from the CBS SUNDAY MORNING SHOW, asking him many questions about DNA testing for genealogy purposes and "do you perform family Re-constructions and what famous names are you working with?". He named several 'famous' names, including the Boone's. She picked up on the Boone name and said she was interested in interviewing someone from the Boone Project. CBS Sunday Morning has made arrangements to travel to Houston the latter part of next week, and this segment is scheduled to be aired on Sunday August 12th, 2001. But, it was later decided that since the Boone DNA Testing Project is fairly new and has not progressed far enough to have received our results, it was decided to include the Boone Project in a later segment. The CBS Sunday Morning Show that will air in a couple of weeks will most likely have another _?_ Family DNA Testing Project that has already received their results and those will be discussed. Second....We still need more male participants with the surnames of Boon; Boone; La Boon; Bohon; Bohun; Bown; Bowne and all variant spellings. The more participants we have, the more successful our project will be. We'll order the sample kits from Famiily Tree DNA in about a week, so you still have time to contact us.
