    1. [BOONE-L] NY-MA Boon(e)s
    2. Once again I am posting this message in case there is a new Boone subscriber who might have the link I am looking for. My great grandfather was William Henry Boon, who was born in Erie County, NY in 1834. On the 1880 Census he said that his father was from Massachusetts and his mother from Vermont. So far the most likely ancestor I have found was a Francis Boon, b. in Upton, MA, who then moved to Uxbridge, MA, then to Vermont, and then to Erie County, NY. I know that Francis had lots of children by at least two and maybe more wives. But I have never been able to connect him or any of his known children to William Henry. William may have been the son of a preacher or minister (Baptist?). William later moved to Indiana (I think) and then to Iowa, where he married Polly Ann Houk, and they had 12 or 13 children in Iowa and Kansas. No one in the family has been able to find any record of his birth and the death certificate cannot be located in Kansas where he died. He did not serve in the military, so there are no records of parents there, either. We are quite sure William Henry was not related to Daniel, and apparently not to the other prominent Boone progenitors. My grandfather, John William Boon, insisted we were not English, but Dutch, and did not want an "e" on his last name. (But my grandmother, a stubborn old lady of English and Scottish stock, insisted on it.) If anyone out there knows about Francis or more about William Henry, please let me know. Charnee
