I have been away from the list for a while, but I am now back on, and wanted to pass on some info to people who may be looking for a trace of Samuel Willard Boon. It seems the Miami County Genealogical Society Quarterly had the following information in some articles: A death notice for Samuel Willard Boon, date of death 7 Aug 1869 in Miami Co., KS It was published in the Miami Republican, 14 Aug 1869. Other names referenced were Mrs. and Mrs. Sam P. Boon. The Miami County Gen. Society Quarterly Reference number is MICOGESOQU Vol 10, No 3 p. 5. Also there is a reference in the same genealogical society quarterly article that he built the first house in Paola, KS (Miami Republican, 22 May, 1869) I also have a reference to a list of Cemeteries of Miami Co., KS that shows Samuel Boone (Boon?) and Samuel Boone JR. on p. 450, Vol 3, and a Boon, J.T. on p.423. And a Walter Boone moved to Weir City, Cherokee Co., KS, according to the 7 Feb 1880 issue of the Republican Citizen, and referenced in the Co. Gen. Soc. issue reference MICOGESOQU vol. 7, no 4, p 5 and in the same volume, a reference on page 63 to a Sam Boone printed in the Republican Citizen on 5 Sept 1878. I am quite interested in this, as I have been trying to find a trace of a Samuel Willard Boon who was born in MA to Francis Boon, and who seemed to vanish into thin air after that. (There was a Willard S. Boon who married in VT, where Francis Boon moved, and I always thought they were the same person, but now I wonder.) Does anyone know about this Samuel Willard Boon?
