Greetings! Here's proof that interest in the Boone line is worldwide. Jacques BOONE from Paris, France, has contacted me regarding a visit he and some friends are planning to Cincinnati and northern Kentucky beginning April 21st. He is specifically interested in meeting other Boone descendants living in the area PARTICULARLY any who speak French. This would be a great opportunity for someone in the area to meet a "distant" cousin and show them some American hospitality. If you can help this gentleman, please e-mail him at [email protected] I'm sure some of you are familiar with the magazine, Kentucky Explorer. For anyone interested in Kentucky history, this magazine is a must. They don't accept advertising, so each issue is nothing but articles about Kentucky and associated genealogy. In the latest issue a query caught my eye. Matthew Ottersback, 927 E. Washington Street, Louisville, KY 40206 writes, "Seeing information on descendants of Edward Boone, brother of Daniel Boone, who raised Edward's children. Any info appreciated." Mr. Ottersback listed his phone number as (502) 589-7053. You can get subscription information to Kentucky Explorer by writing to the editor at PO Box 227, Jackson, KY 41339. For those of you who are not members of The Boone Society Inc., you may be interested to learn that the state of Kentucky will be dedicating a Historical Marker that notes the site where Edward Boone was killed and initially buried. Descendants of Edward and other members of the Society have been instrumental in raising the necessary funds for the maker which will be dedicated at 2 p.m., on Monday, April 23rd in Bourbon County.
