    1. 1779 Migration, NC>KY

    3. Hi Folks, I am currently working on a list of families who likely accompanied the Boone and Bryan (and Grant, etc) migration from Old Rowan & Surry (& other neighboring areas) - kinsmen and neighbors who left out together in the autumn of 1779. The typical description of this trek says "it was like an army coming out," and estimates run to several hundred people "led by Boone." Of course, quite a few of these same people (particularly the Bryan clan) returned a short year later, devastated by their Kentucky losses, so it's difficult to know just who was where when during this part of the RW. And, many people traveled back and forth quite a bit, from what I can tell. I have identified quite a few of the names, but not nearly all. Although I have "a pretty good list," I am unsure of some of the grown children of the Bryans & Boones, and other collateral families or heads of households. "Single riflemen's" names are also helpful! I am specifically looking at the autumn 1779 trip to KY, and at the return to NC in Sept. 1780 -- does anyone have names to add? Thanks, Kathryn
