    3. Hello listers: I'm searching for info on my g-g-g-grandmother & her family. She is Priscilla Smith McDaniel/McDonald. She was born 12 March 1800 near Frankfort, Franklin Co, KY. She married Alexander Russel (A.R.) McDaniel/McDonald on 28 Nov 1821 in Orange Co, Indiana. They had 11 children, the last one, James Allen McDonald was my g-g-grandfather. What I'm looking for is info on her parents & back. Her parents are Abigail Boone & Humphrey Smith. I would like to find out DOB's & DOD's for her parents, when & where they were married, buried, siblings, etc. Who their parents were, etc. I was told that we are descended from Squire Boone, but unknown to me exactly how. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all, B. L. The catastrophe of Katrina has taught us all valuable lessons. One thing we can do for ourselves is scan all of our important documents, papers and pictures (copy driver's license, SS card, deeds, wills, vehicle titles and etc.). Burn EVERYTHING to CD's and put everything into CD cases. Give copies to different relatives, put a copy in a safe or safety deposit box. If you know someone who does not have a computer or scanner offer to do their documents. Although most people will never be in a hurricane there are other natural disasters such as a fire or tornado which can occur. Dear Lists: Referring back to the Bryan books. I believe I mentioned that Cousin Kathryn Weiss was one of the compilers, along with our cousin Dr. McMurty. In the second notice of the ordering details, I failed to mention that. I wish to express my gratitude and congratulations to both Kathryn and David on the wonderful work they have and are doing for the Bryan, Boone, and Strode Families. Generations, yet unborn, will bless them for generations to come. I always remember the description of Lewis and Clark's writings. It was said that they wrote and spelled fearlessly. Well, that is the way I write and remember. I finally got to begin reading in the latest book last evening. Knowing that I had to get up extra early today, I still kept reading until ca. 1:00 a.m. Your Cousin, Ivan of Trafalgar A Bryan, Boone, and Strode ______________________________Date: Thu, 8 Sep 2005 14:56:38 -0500 From: "rochelle" <rochelle@cablelynx.com> To: BOONE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [BOONE-L] Cousin Ivan of Trafalgar forgot and then remembered ! ! ! 3. Hi, Belinda, I have an Abigail Boone in my database, born about 1770, married to a Humphrey Smith. This Abigail Boone is the child of Hezekiah and Rebecca Freelove Boone, "Our Boone Families, Daniel Boone's Kinfolks" by Sarah Ridge Rockenfield, p. 260. This Hezekiah Boone (Sr.) is the son of George Boone IV (Daniel Boone's brother), and Deborah Howell Boone. Hezekiah was born 2 June 1735 in Exeter Township, Berks Co., PA, and died about 1835 in Woodford Co., KY. Hezekiah is mentioned in his father's will (George Boone of Exeter) signed Nov 18, 1753 ("The Boone Family" by Hazel Spraker, p. 29). Abigail, according to Rockenfield, married Humphrey Smith in Orange Co., Orleans, Indiana, buried Stampers Creek Cemetery there (Orange Co., IN). They had the following children: Margaret (b. Mar 11, 1800- d. 1852, m. 1st Wm. Cunningham & 2nd Alfred Elliott); Melissa Ann (m. Caleb Reed Aug 9, 1838, Orange Co) Allen (went to Iowa) Jarvis (b. 1793, KY, m. Polly Humphries 1817 Carter Co, TN) Caleb, m. Susan Hampton, Orange Co., IN Hezekiah Smith in 1830 census of Carter Co., TN m. Ann Smith, Carter Co, TN Moses Smith also in 1830 census, Greene Co, TN Humphrey Smith in 1830 census in Grainger Co., TN HOWEVER, no Priscilla is listed - which does not mean that there wasn't a Priscilla. Just means that you need to find some other proof. Another thing about Rockenfield, she does not give sources for her material, but we are grateful for her years of incredible work. Hope this will give you a guide for further research. I would personally like to invite you to join the Boone Society - I believe you'd enjoy our quarterly newsletter and the biennial Boone reunions. June 14-17, 2006, the reunion will be held at the Boone Homestead near Reading, Pennsylvaia. Rochelle E.
