    3. The Civil War letters I'm working on were written mostly by Margaret Jane Watts Hays but a few are by Upton Hays. Margaret describes a fight between Jayhawkers and Missouri State Guards at Morristown, Cass Co., MO in 1861 which her Uncle Richard C. Berry, who had a farm at Morristown and his sons took part. The Jayhawkers were Charles Jennison and his Red Legs from Kansas. I wanted to know if the Morrises were related to Upton Hays and it seems that the only relation is that both families had ancestors who came from Berks Co., PA. Heres where I got the Morris and Morristown information. Thanks to Dorthy Mack and Daniel Paxton who responded to my message.
