    3. Morristown, Cass Co., MO was founded by a miller, John Calvin Morris. I found the following on a Civil War message board. John Calvin MORRIS and Martin Luther ("M.L.") MORRIS were sons of William MORRIS and Priscilla (SPRINGER) MORRIS of Uniontown, PA. These Morris'were related to the BOONEs and LINCOLNs and others of early lore from Berks Co., PA. Does anybody know how these Morrises are related to Upton Hays, a greatgrandson of Daniel Boone? Marian

John Linville Boone (abt 1769-1845) married Mary "Polly" Morris on 6 Dec 1791 in Shelby County, KY. This doesn't look like a possible connection to Upton Hays and the Morris boys. Maybe farther back in time... Cadwalader Morris (abt 1690-1727) married Elizabeth Morgan (b abt 1693-?). Elizabeth Morgan is the sister of Edward Morgan, Daniel Boone's grandfather. Cadwalader Morris and Elizabeth Morgan had six children. None of them married into either the Boone or the Lincoln lines. Sorry, I don't see the connection to Upton Hays. Although I guess it could be a distant relationship through Cadwalader's progeny. Maybe someone else can shed more light on your search. Take care, Daniel Paxton

    3. William MORRIS, Jr b 23 Dec 1802 Priscilla "Sally" SPRINGER>Dennis, Dennis, Jacob, Christopher b 1784. Her brother Jacob b 14 July 1777 m Mary LINCOLN>John>Mordecai, Mordecai, Mordecai, Samuel b 27 Dec 1796 d 20 April 1858 Uniontown, PA. Mary was the third marriage of Jacob SPRINGER and they had no children. Priscilla SPRINGER and Wm MORRIS, Jr had a number of children. I have info on Elam b 15 Nov 1811 in Fayette Co, PA near Uniontown. According to my info he went to OR abt 1851 and died there. He had several children, including one named John Calvin and also a Martin Luther MORRIS. Capt Jacob PRICKETT m Dorothy SPRINGER and their son John PRICKETT b 1748 Burlington, NJ d abt 1832 Marion, Grant Co, IN m 1787 Monongalia Co, VA to Elizabeth HAYES b 24 Dec 1770 in VA d 1831 Marion, Grant Co, IN. They had 12 children some of whom ended up in Zanesville, OH, Franklin Twp, Brown Co, OH, Adams Co, OH, Macon Co, MO. I have never been able to find a connection of this Elizabeth HAYES to the HAYES of the Daniel BOONE connection. I do not believe that the line of William MORRIS, Jr and Priscilla "Sally" SPRINGER had any direct relationship to any of the BOONE/LINCOLN marriages. I would be more than happy to assist you in further research of the Wm MORRIS/Priscilla SPRINGER line if you could furnish me more information regard their children; names, dates and places. I worked on the SPRINGER/PRICKETT line in 1997-1998 and do have a lot of data but nothing that leads to HAYS/BOONE connection. The person that is direct desc of John PRICKETT and Elizabeth HAYES had a book "Now and Long Ago" a History of Marion Co, OH. Some of my info is from this book. It was published at Morgantown, WVA.
