    1. [BOONE-L] Re: BOONE-D Digest V01 #196
    2. Thanks to everyone who sent a reply about Lillian's book which contains the reference to the story of my GGF Stonewall Jackson Boone and his emigration to California on a prairie schooner. This is exactly what I'm trying to locate. The newsletter references this contribution from a Mrs. James K. Allen of Modesto California. I have tried to locate her but have been unsuccessful so far. 'Stoney' eventually lived in Newman California (near Modesto) and there is a small blurb about him and his lumber/ranching work in that area in a book published about Pioneer families of Stanislaus County in the early '20's. My family descends directly from Daniel's brother, George. Stoney's parents, Wellington and Jemima Boone, emigrated to California as noted in 1865. Stoney's parents settled in Contra Costa County near the city of Danville with other Boone cousins. Their graves are in a small cemetery along with cousins etc., in Danville, California. My research indicates that sometime between the 1920's and the 1950's Stonewall and his wife, Jessie returned to the Mid-West and may have died in Missouri. Haven't been able to fill in these gaps yet. The census records stop at 1920 so I guess I have to wait to try and find out the rest! thanks again for your replies, sharon flores [email protected] [email protected] wrote: > Subject: > > BOONE-D Digest Volume 01 : Issue 196 > > Today's Topics: > #1 [BOONE-L] Lillian Hays Oliver's bo [[email protected]] > #2 [BOONE-L] Stonewall Jackson Boone [[email protected]] > #3 Re: [BOONE-L] Lillian Hays Oliver' ["Pauli Smith" <[email protected]] > #4 [BOONE-L] BOONE'S OF BEANTOWN and ["SMoller" <[email protected]>] > #5 [BOONE-L] Daniel Boone Legend - Ha [[email protected] (Joyce H] > > Administrivia: > To unsubscribe from BOONE-D, send a message to > > [email protected] > > that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > > and no other text.
