    1. Re: [BOONE-L] CAPT. JOHN BOONE, JR. AND ELIZABTH WILLIAMS of ANNE ARUNDEL CO., MD

    3. Hello Shirley, I am sending a copy of this to the list as well, as others may be interested in the info too. I am descended from the first of 3 successive John Boones in early Anne Arundel County, MD (he was my great-x-6-grandfather). I don't have all of the info on the second (Capt) John Boone, but will share what I have been able to find. I think that the first John Boone was also called Capt. Are you a descendent of this line also? If you need info on this line dating back to the original immigrant, Humphrey Boone, I will be glad to share what I have. Most of my data is from some other researchers and from a Family Tree Maker CD called Family History: Colonial Families of Maryland, 1600s-1900s. I am lacking in original materials such as wills, certificates, etc, and would love to get a copy of the Capt John Boone will which you transcribed, if you have that. Here is a set of notes on the second John Boone mostly gleaned from the above CD: *Born on his father's plantation, "Maidstone" in March 27, 1736, date of death 1800? *Received realty at the death of his father ("Brown's Adventure" and "Rattlesnake Neck") and also at the death of his brother Robert in 1783. *Military service-commissioned March 2, 1778, Capt. of Severn Battalion of Military by the Council of MD *Tax List 1782 - Capt. John Boone, taxpayer, Magothy Hundred, A.A. Co., with 11 in family. *Death - before May 11, 1802 for on that date his widow married Zachariah Pumphrey. *The will of Zachariah Pumphrey was proved in A.A. Co. May 3, 1808 at which time Elizabeth, his widow, denounced it and demanded her dower rights. Among the bequests were silver marked EBT to Charles Boone, his wife's grandson. No heirs of his body were mentioned. His estate was distributed on Aug. 16, 1809, to his widow Elizabeth, brother Edward Pumphrey, and Charles Boone. The will of his widow, Elizabeth Pumphrey, was proved in A.A. Co. May 14, 1818, naming her grandson Charles Boone of Robert, the only legatee. I also found a date for the marriage of Sarah Griffith to John Boone(the 3rd of this line): Nov 22 1792 at St Margarets, Westminster Parish, AA Co. I could find no specifics on the MD CD on an Elizabeth Williams with the birthdate you mentioned(there were dozens with this name on the CD, many with no birthdates) Let me know if I can help otherwise. Ed Boone
