Hi All, A multi-list posting to let everyone know my primary PC is FINALLY about 95% recovered from the impact of the email virus, genealogy related subjects, that got by all my years of experience with computers and what I thought was very good virus protection. I still have not been able to identify it exactly, but that doesn't matter anymore. It was a grueling and time consuming process to get back to where I am. I won't bore you with the details. Because of other simple protections I have in place, I did not lose any data. And, my backup computer didn't miss a beat on receiving all your emails. I don't want to start a general discussion of viruses on this list. If you'd like to discuss viruses RootsWeb has an excellent mailing list - a neat little community of its own with many very helpful and knowledgeable people subscribing. As you might expect, its a busy list, so you might consider digest mode if choose to sub to it. I guess my message on viruses is don't trust emails with genealogy subjects and update your virus definition files at least weekly. Just knowing that our ancestors faced great crises, and our homeland endured, is very important somehow. I fear its time for our sacrifices for freedom again. I'm concerned, but not overly worried.
