The following is the info in the Holiday 2003 issue of New England Ancestors in an article "Corrections to _Ancestry of American Presidents_" Stover researcher Roger Cubs writes that Eisenhower's great-grandparents Daniel Stover, Jr. and Mary Hannah were born in Augusta Co., Va. on respectively 23 May 1780 and 3 Jan. 1781 and died there 18 Jan. 1862 and 23 Mar. 1852. Mr. Cubs also thinks the grandparents of Daniel Jr. are not Jacob Stover and Sarah Boone but Daniel Stauffer (b. ca. 1707 in Muckenhauserhof, Ibersheim, Germany, an immigrant of 1732) and Eva Albrecht. The immigrant was the son of another Daniel Stauffer (b. ca. 1685) and Magdalena (Krehbiel) and grandson of Daniel and Barbara (Galli) Stauffer from Eggilwil, Bern, Switzerland. Further Swiss research has been undertaken by Richard Warren Davis of Provo, Utah. If this descent is correct Eisenhower loses not only his kinship to Daniel Boone, but also his only known English ancestry. Does anyone know either Roger Cubs or Richard Warren Davis?
