    3. Here is the info I promised on George Boone III. We have the actual old English record to back up this information: Stoke Canon Parish, Devon, Exeter, England Parents & Siblings of George Boone III (The Church at Stoke Canon is St. Mary Magdalene) George Boone was buried ye thirty first of May 1696 - (We believe this to be our George Boone II, father of George III) Sarah Boon wido was buried ye 5th of February 1708 - (We believe this to be Sarah Opie/Uppey, widow of George II, mother of George III.) John Son of George Boone was baptized the twentieth day of April 1673 John Boon was buried the 18th day of April 1693 Henry Son of George Boone was baptized the nineteenth of October 1663 Henry Son of George Boone was buryed ye Eighth of February 1663 George Son of Beorge Boone was baptized the Nineteenth of March 1666 - (We believe this to be our George Boone III.) St. Disen's Church, Bradninch, Devon, England Mary ye daughter of John Moggridge baptized ye 23rd day of December - (We believe this to be the wife of George Boone III.) George Boone married unto Mary Maugridge the 16th day of August 1689 - (We believe this to be the marriage of George Boone III & Mary Maugridge.) Six of George III & Mary Boone's 10 children were baptized at St. Disen's in Bradninch: 1. 1690 George ye son of George Boone baptized the 20th day of July (George IV) 2. 1692 Sarah ye daughter of George Boone baptized the 28th day of March 3. 1694 Mary ye daughter of George Bone baptized the 26th day of September 1696 Mary ye daughter of George Boone buried 20 May 1696) 4. 1696 Squire ye son of George Boone baptized December ye 25th 5. 1699 Mary ye daughter of George Boone baptized the same day (previous entry Oct 13, 1699) 6. 1701 John ye son of George Boone baptized January ye 30th Sometime after 1701, but before 1717 when George III moved to America, the George Boone III family joined the Quakers and thus birth records for their remaining 4 children were not recorded. Their remaining 4 children were: Joseph, Benjamin, James & Samuel. The birthdates for the remaining 4 sons are provided in the "old James Boone Genealogy" on file at the Wisconsin Historical Society and reproduced in Hazel Spraker's book (P. 583) as follows: Following birthdates given in Spraker, p. 24: Joseph Boone, b. 5 Apr 1704, d. 30 Jan 1776 Benjamin Boone, b. 16 July 1706 James Boone, b. 7 July 1709 Samuel Boone, b. about 1711. 3. Thanks for sharing your lineage, Chester & Marie. Marie, glad you asked about the information on George Boone III's children and I have that information and will send it later. If you want copies of the actual marriage record of George III, his baptism record and that of Mary Maugridge and the baptism of 6 of their children in England (plus the burial records of George II & Sarah), we have them! They can be purchased by Boone Society members for $10 and $20 for non-members. You can visit www.boonesociety.org and click on the "Boone store" on the front page and you'll be guided to how to order the 17th century old English records of our ancestors. I apologize for having to charge, but these records were very expensive and time-consuming to obtain. Let me know if anyone has questions. My Boone lineage is: George Boone III & Mary Maugridge Squire Boone & Sarah Morgan Edward Boone & Martha Bryan Jane Boone & Morgan Morgan Nancy Morgan & George Washington Thacker Elijah Thacker & Sarah Jane Branum Julia Holmes Thacker & John C. 2. Merry Christmas From Hoosierland A Christmas Prayer "Loving Father, help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and the worship of the wise men. Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts. May the Christmas morning make us happy to be Thy children, and the Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake. Amen!" 3. LiAnn, I am glad you are interested in the ancestry of George Boone. As you know, the Boone Society has been trying for the past two years to solicit funds to help us with English research of our Boone ancestors. I believe you were once working with Dorthy Mack on this project. To answer your question, "yes, we have copies of the christening records of George & Mary Boone." Members of the Boone Society may purchase them for $10 and non-members may purchase them for $20. I apologize upfront for having to charge for these precious old English, handwritten documents. But, they were expensive to obtain and we are trying to collect enough money to continue our efforts in England. If anyone is interested in purchasing these records, which also include the marriage of George (III) & Mary, and the burial of George III's parents, George II & Sarah, please visit our website at www.boonesociety.org -- While there on the front page, click on the Boone Store with the picture of our lapel pin. There you will see, "17th Century Devonshire Boone Records" -- click on that and you'll find ordering instructions and a description of the records. Let me know if you have questions. 1. Mary Hunt Bryan Book Arrives in Indiana Ivan of Trafalgar
    2. Dear Cousins, The copies of MARY HUNT BRYAN 1759-1842 "A PIONEER WOMAN" NORTH CAROLINA, KENTUCKY, AND INDIANA arrived, in Trafalgar, in this morning's mail. I have just had time to leaf through. Lots of illustrations, photographs, maps, copies of documents, etc. The book is hard bound and very handsome. I plan to place one of my copies in the Johnson County Museum of History's Genealogical/Historical Library. A DAR Chapter North of here is named for Mary Hunt Bryan and the burial place, school, and Center are probably 15 miles from here. I have driven by the Cem. but have not stopped. I have that on my list of "to dos". Thanks to Cousin David C. McMurtry and his assistants compilers: John K. Bryan, Jr., Kathryn H. Weiss, Ralph E. Kelly. Cousin David, we all appreciate all the book that you have published. MANY MANY MANY THANKS. I think I will have to put up another support post under the house, just because of you. I am sure the book will keep me up LATE tonight. Gratefully, Cousin Ivan D. Lancaster, A Boone, Bryan, and Strode.
