    1. Moses / Hannah Boone
    2. Gary Salisbury
    3. I am very confused as to who the parents are for Hannah Boone , b. 6 Feb. 1770 , who was married to Judge Moses Boone , son of Warren M. Boone and Martha Cox . People have all sorts of differant people for this Hannah Boone's parents . Some have her parents as Samuel Boone Jr. and Jane Foulke Hughes , others have her parents as James Boone and Mary Foulke . I had thought that her father was Samuel Boone Jr. son of Samuel Boone Sr. and some have that information . However the birth dates that I have been given do not make sense . Some say that Samuel Boone Sr. was born in 1728 and Samuel Boone Jr. as being born in 1836 which would make Samuel Sr. 108 years old when Samuel Jr. was born . Some have Samuel Jr. married to Elizabeth Cassel and others have him married to Sarah Day . I have also found information that says that Judge Moses Boone was married twice . First to Hannah Boone b. 6 Feb. 1770 ( daughter of Samuel Jr. ) and then to a Hannah Boone ( daughter of James Boone ! and Mary Foulke . ) Is there anyone out there that has or can tell me where to find " DOCUMENTAION " as to just who Hannah Boone b. 1770 parents are ? ------------- HELP ----------- Nancy ---------

    1. Wilcoxen/Wilcox Branch of Boone family
    2. Debbi Geer
    3. While reviewing the various roll call messages, I have been trying to update my file on the Boone family. I trust that everyone has the necessary proof for each generation and don't want to cause any problems but in this case I must ask a question about the Wilcoxen/Wilcox branch of the family. I just want to make sure that I have the correct data and don't give out incorrect data when asked In my records up to this point I have the following lineage - Squire Boone and Sarah Morgan Sarah Boone and John Wilcoxson Samuel Wilcoxson and Anne Jordon Isaiah Wilcox (dropped the son) (1796 - 1870) and Frances Greer (abt 1795 - abt 1860) had had at least one child Docia b 1816 Now one of the members of this list has that Isaiah was married to Sarah Mullins. Based on the age of Docia it appears that Isaiah and Frances were divorced. Am I right about this or do I or someone else have a marriage in the our records that shouldn't be? 3. Hi Joyce, You have a very interesting line. I hope that you get a clearer picture of your Boone connection someday. Maybe someone here can help you out. I'd be interested to know when you find the connection. 1. Re: [BOONE-L] Sarah Morgan Boone's Birthplace
    2. rochelle
    3. I believe Sarah Morgan was born in America and not Wales. I base my belief on research by Stewart Baldwin published in Spring 2001 issue of "The Genealogist" publication of The American Society of Genealogists." Baldwin has (in my opinion) done the most thorough research yet on the Morgan family. Edward Morgan, father of Sarah, was in America by 1684 and received a warrant for a city lot in Philadelphia on 27 July 1684 -- 5 years later he received a warrant for 100 acres of land in Chester Co., PA. In 1693/4 he was mentioned in the monthly meeting of Quakers of Gwynedd. Sarah was born 1707, and "26 Feb. 1708, Edward Morgan of Philadelphia Co., tailor, purchased a tract of 309 acres." Berks Co. was formed in 1752 from part of Philadelphia Co., but I really don't know where "Lansdale" is in regard to the property in 1707 Philadelphia County as stated by Nell Truitt. Just thought I'd add the Stewart Baldwin info in case anyone was interested. Rochelle Cochran ----- Original Message ----- From: "Debbi Geer" <dgirth@yahoo.com> To: <BOONE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 29, 2004 9:10 PM Subject: [BOONE-L] Sarah Morgan Boone's Birthplace I'm just after the correct information for which I'm sure everyone on this list will agree. In Joyce Beck Truitt's detailed lineage, which was greatly appreciated by me, she shows that Sarah Morgan Boone, wife of Squire Boone I/Sr, was born in Lansdale, Berks Co, PA. I have seen somewhere, possibly on this list or in Hazel Spraker's publication on the Boone family, that Sarah was born in Bala, Gwynedd, Wales. Can someone clarify which location is the right birthplace and what proof you have to support the location data so that all on this list is in agreement? Thank you. 2. Arthur Hopkins
    3. Here is a list of my Boone ancestors: Belle Boone = Arthur Howard Hopkins James Thomas Boone = Margaret Jane Mock Samuel L. Boone = Sarah E. Bobo James D. Boon = Catharine Ann Smith That's it. James D. Boon was born (according to two Census records) about 1799 in Pennsylvania. He married Catharine Ann Smith in 1826 in Frederick County, MD. A recent DNA test indicates that my Boone line corresponds to no others in the test group so far, so I'm not related to the George Boone line. That leaves some possibilities. The "Swedish Boons" are one. They settled in the Delaware Valley early on, but so far none of the descendants have taken the DNA test. There are also Boons and Boones from other countries who settled in Pennsylvania, including some from Ireland. Also, Boon or its spelling variants are names not unknown in Germany and Holland. If anyone has any clues or hints they'd like to pass on, I'd be happy to receive them. For now, I've switched my efforts to researching other lines. Art Hopkins Arthur Hopkins Federal Way, WA

    3. My line goes back to Mary Elizabeth Boon(e) (called Mary/Polly) born c1750 +/-, who married John Couch. They lived in Fincastle and Botetourt Counties VA as early as 1773, Wilkes and Ashe Counties NC. Mary/Polly died in area now Ashe County c1781. I descend from two of their three daughters: Family #1 Sarah/Sally Couch, and James T Lewis, Jr., Margaret/Peggy Lewis and Allen Moore, Mary/Polly Moore and Jeremiah Davidson, Allen Davidson and Amanda Moore, Raymond Davidson and Mary Susan Davidson, Joyce Davidson (me) Family #2 Nancy Ann Couch and William Campbell (said to have been the son of Nancy's stepmother, Elizabeth Campbell Couch), Mary/Polly Campbell and John Madison Davidson (older 1/2 brother of Robert in family #1), Robert Davidson and Nancy Hays William Davidson and Tobitha Allen, Mary Susan Davidson and Raymond Davidson, Joyce Davidson (me) Family traditions that have come down in all three branches of the Couch daughters from Mary/Polly Boon(e) say that she was "close kin" to Daniel Boone, and further that her father was Squire Edward, or Edward Squire Boone. In the Lewis family, the tradition states her mother was an Indian woman. One Lewis son's obituary even went so far as to mention that his "maternal grandmother (i.e. Mary Boon(e) Couch) was a sister of Daniel Boone the famous frontiersman". We know this to not be factual. Our Mary Elizabeth is a "forgotten" Boone, but suely she fits in somewhere. One would think that nearly two-hundred years of tradition would count for something... Besides traditions, our families also have a document from the 1770's naming Mary Elizabeth Boon as "wife of John Couch", and she was "with childe" at the time. We believe the "childe" to have been my ggg grandmother, Sarah Couch Lewis. Joyce
